James Barker Obituary
A native of Graham County, and son of the late Clyde and Ila Barker, James retired to Robbinsville in 2009 after decades of career travel took him around the country building commercial properties – most notably, Cracker Barrel restaurants.
He is survived by four daughters: Janet Barker Littrell of Titusville, Fla., Madie Barker Melton of Asheville, N.C., Jamie Barker Hingten, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Joy Barker Eubanks of Dallas, Ga., plus their respective husbands; as well as eight grandchildren.
He is also survived by his beloved sister and lifelong resident of Robbinsville, Verna Barker Garland.
Per James' wishes, he was cremated and no services were held.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff at Mission Hospital for the care, compassion and support in the care of their father.
