Mrs. Elaine Szopinski, age 93, of Grand Haven passed away Monday, April 8, 2024, at Robbinswood Assisted Living Center. She was born May 2, 1930, in Allendale to George and Josephine (Hook) Bryant and lived her entire life in Robinson Township.
On January 20, 1962, she married Thomas Szopinski and the two lived a simple, but happy life in their home on Stearns Bayou until his passing in 2011. During her recent illness, Elaine was looking forward to being reunited with the love of her life.
Elaine and Tom were faithful members of St. Anthony Catholic Church, and she enjoyed volunteering at the food pantry there in her later years. Elaine enjoyed bowling, tending to her flowers and drinking Pepsi.
Preceded in death by her husband, Tom, her parents, and her brother, Vernon. Elaine is survived by her brother, George (Barbara) Bryant and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2024, at The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 620 Washington Ave, Grand Haven, MI 49417. Visitation will take place after the service during the luncheon at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Robinson Township Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in memory of Elaine may be given to Trinity Health At Home – Grand Haven or St. Patrick – St. Anthony Catholic Church – Food Pantry. Please sign the family's online guestbook at www.sytsemafh.com.
