Maxine Fox Obituary
Mickie lived her life with class, dignity and grace. She passed the same way, peacefully. She loved her family, animals, reading and traveling the world. Her love of travel led to lifelong friendships as far away as Thailand, Australia, Israel, and the Netherlands.
Besides her beloved husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; Tom's parents, Martin and Billy Fox; sister, June DePree; brother, Robert Bouterse; sisters-in-law, Portia and Gloria. Surviving are her four children, Janet Fox Silverberg (Steve), Thomas S. Fox Jr., Julie Ann Fox, and Joan Fox Turrentine (John); Mema to, Thomas Fox Turrentine, Daniel Silverberg, David Silverberg (Ethel Barja), Steph Silverberg (Kevin Rhode), Allison Tunge (Jack) and Kathryn Schafer (Brian); great-grandchildren, Lyle David Rhode, Charlie Maxine and Stanford Tunge, and Emery Lucille Schafer and many nieces and nephews.
Very special thanks to Joan and John Turrentine for keeping Mickie well and healthy after Tom's passing. Special thanks to caregivers and friends, Sanela, Hannah and Serena for their care and love.
Friends may meet with Mickie's family on Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 10:30 AM until 12:00 PM at the Metcalf & Jonkhoff Funeral Home, 4291 Cascade Rd. SE Grand Rapids, MI 49546 where the service to celebrate her life will take place at 12 noon. Contributions in her memory may be directed to: Hospice of Michigan 989 Spaulding Ave. SE Ada, MI 49301 and/or Paws With A Cause 4649 Division Ave. S., Wayland, MI 49348.

I´m not sure if the children remember me. I owned Jeanne´s Cafe in Grand Haven. My condolences to your family. I remember your parents fondly when they would stop in. They both were so nice to me and the rest of my staff. Praying for your family.

To the great Fox family, my deepest condolences. I never met Mrs. Fox. However Tom and Jack Bowen gave me a job at Chiristmas and all 4 years at Michigan State. I will never forget the family for helping me. I did know Martin a bit in his later years. I lived in Sarasota and saw Tom on several occasions. He was always had a very nice greeting for me. To the children may your mom R.I.P forever.

Farewell to an absolutely wonderful lady. Mickey as we knew her along with her wonderful husband Tom had a huge impact on our lifes . The zamel family in Australia. We will never forget those memorable times we all shared together. We are all one even with the huge distance that separates us . We love the Entire Fox family and we are so proud and honoured to be your friends.
The sadness of your lose is with us all .
