David R. Eliason, 70, of Hibbing, MN passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, March 7, 2025, at his home after a long courageous battle with cancer.
David was born January 15, 1955, in Hibbing, MN to Urho and Joan (Anzich) Eliason. He was united in marriage to Veronica Stahlberg on April 14, 1984. Together they had one son, Joshua. David worked different jobs but his latest was with the City of Virginia Public Utilities until his retirement. His favorite things to do were gardening, fishing, playing his guitar, and he was in several bands.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sandra and Ray Stahlberg; one brother-in-law, Tracy Stahlberg; one sister-in-law, Cindy Eliason; and foster parents, George and Blanche Willenbring.
David is survived by the love of his life and wife, Veronica; his son and best friend, Joshua; brothers, Mike Eliason, Pat (Laura) Eliason, Nick (Debbie) Eliason; sisters, Kathy (Lance) Kupka, Mary (Marty) Dailey, Maryln (Pat) Doyle; foster parents, Pete and Donna Nelson; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Dawn and Greg Hince, Shane and Lynn Stahlberg, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
David will be deeply missed.
A celebration of David's life will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025, beginning at 3:00 PM at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Grand Rapids, MN. Bring your guitars, drums, or favorite musical instrument and feel free to join in with the jam session in honor of David.
