Dennis W. Anderson
1943-2025
Dennis W. Anderson of Cohasset, MN, passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the Sandstone Health Care Center. He was 81 years old and embraced life to the fullest.
Born on June 29, 1943, in Flushing Meadows, New York, Dennis had a childhood filled with adventures, on the move due to his father's work as a DNR officer. He graduated from Baudette High School. He enlisted in the Army, where he spent time stationed in Italy, wrapping up his service just before the Vietnam War started.
After his military service, Dennis followed in his father's footsteps and began a career with the Department of Natural Resources. He attended college at the University of Minnesota, where he participated in the ROTC program. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and became a DNR officer.
In January 1973, Dennis married the love of his life, Jennie. Together, they raised their two children, Neil and Kristina, and created a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and countless outdoor adventures.
Dennis had a deep passion for nature. He loved any outdoor hobby, but fishing held a special place in his heart, especially fly fishing. It was more than just a pastime; it was a way for him to connect with the great outdoors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mildred, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Dennis is survived by his loving wife, Jennie; his son, Neil; his daughter, Kristina; many family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A memorial service was held for Dennis on March 28, 2025 at the Methven Funeral Home Chapel. A burial will be held with military honors at the Wildwood Cemetery in Cohasset, MN at a later date.
