Imelda (Millie) Andrie
1933-2023
Millie Andrie, age 89, of Grand Rapids, MN passed away peacefully on October 22nd, 2023 at Oak Hills Assisted Living in Grand Rapids, MN.
Millie was born in 1933 to Joseph and Marie Klinnert in Fergus Falls, MN. She attended a one room schoolhouse through 8th grade. She met and married John (Jack) Andrie in 1957. Starting off on a small farm near Maine, MN, they subsequently moved to Bloomington, MN, then Burnsville, MN while having three children. In 1972 they became owners of Birchwood Resort on Six Mile Lake in Bena, MN. Four years later they purchased their home on Deer Lake north of Deer River, MN. They remained in this home for over 37 years. Upon Jack's passing, Millie moved into Deer River in 2012 and then to Oak Hill Assisted living in 2020.
Millie was an avid bowler for over 60 years and twice earned a trip to the Senior Women's National Bowling Tournament. She worked as a waitress, secretary, and insurance agent for many years. She greatly enjoyed fishing, playing cards, sewing, family & friends, and dancing (especially with Jack).
Preceded in death by her parents, sister Marcella, sister Nataline, and husband Jack.
Survived by her children: Jeff (Deb) Andrie of Grand Rapids, MN. Beckii Andrie of Grand Rapids, MN. Craig Andrie of Greenwood Village, CO. 11-Grandchildren and 6- Great Grandchildren.
The Family wishes to express their gratitude for the compassionate care Millie received from Oak Hill Assisted Living and St. Croix Hospice.
Funeral Services will be on Tuesday October 31, 2023 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Deer River, MN. Visitation at 10:00 A.M. Mass at 11:00 A.M.
Arrangements are with Carroll Funeral Home.
