Robert Charles Metke
Robert Charles Metke, Rob, passed on March 27, 2025 at the VA Medical Center Orlando with his wife Mary and the many wonderful hospital staff present.
Rob is preceded in death by his father Robert "Spud" Metke, mother Lenaye Metke, sister Susan Thompson, brother David Metke, brother-in-law Dennis Ikola and daughter Falon Jackson.
His is survived by his wife Mary, sister Margaret Ann Ikola, and daughters Alanna Long (Dwayne), Michelle Schaefer (Pete), Billie Jo Carroll (Charlie Troop), stepdaughter Melissa Gourdine, 11 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Rob's 23 years of service to the United States Navy was his greatest source of pride.
Cremation-Compass Pointe Funeral Home in Orlando, Florida. Burial-graveside with military honors at Pine Ridge Cemetary in Deer River, MInnesota (date tbd). In lieu of flowers please make a donation to St. Jude's Children's' Hospital.
