HELEN KLUVER Obituary

HELEN KLUVER 03/13/1940 - 06/26/2025 Helen Kluver, 85, of Granite Falls, formerly of Sacred Heart, passed away Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Avera Granite Falls Care Center. Mass of Christian burial was on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Renville with Rev. Joe Steinbeisser as celebrant. Visitation was on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 5 - 7 p.m. at the church and continued for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by Dirks-Blem Funeral Service, Renville. Helen M. Kluver was born on March 13, 1940, at her grandparent's home in Willmar to Emil and Lena (Ruchti) Hubert. She attended country school and graduated from Sacred Heart High School, class of 1958. Helen was united in marriage to Clarence Kluver on June 7, 1958, at St. Clara's Catholic Church in Clara City, sharing 64 years of marriage together. Following the wedding Helen joined Clarence in Mountain Home, Idaho, where he was stationed in the Air Force. After moving back, they settled by Sacred Heart. It was there that they raised their seven children. We share many fun memories like making forts in the grove, playing with and naming all of Pepper's puppies, riding the big toboggan, and climbing in the barn! Helen was a gentle soul, a devoted and loving wife, daughter, mom, and grandma. She was also a loyal friend. She loved family gatherings and enjoyed watching her family grow. Helen joined the workforce after getting the children in school. She worked as a CNA at the Clara City Nursing Home, as well as an activity aide at Granite Falls Manor for over 20 years before retiring. She made every resident feel special and loved. Helen was a dedicated volunteer. She spent 19 years wearing many different hats at her beloved Holy Redeemer Church. She also shared her time and talents with her community. She was a Boy Scout leader, member of the S.H.I.R.T. Team, in the local Women's Club and Homemaker's group, a Hospice Volunteer, and a member of Red Hats ... just to name a few! One highlight was being named "Grand Marshal" for a Summerfest celebration. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning, and listening to good-ol' country music. She loved going to concerts and meeting some of her favorite entertainers like Charlie Pride, Jimmy Fortune, and Daniel O'Donnell. She also enjoyed her trips to Nashville and Branson! Her radio or stereo was always playing. Helen is survived by her seven children: Jerry of New London, Ron (and Wendy) Kluver of Danube, Tom (and Jackie) Kluver of Darwin, Becky (and Tim) Opdahl of Granite Falls, Doug (and Maggie) of Montevideo, Deb (and Brad) Burgeson of Granite Falls, and Mike (and Shannon) Kluver of Hazel Run; her 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Patricia Hubert of Summerville, S.C., and Grace Stoll of Howard Lake; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, and special friend, Bev Radunz. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; in-laws, Tom and Etta Kluver; her husband, Clarence; brother, Robert Hubert; brothers-in-law: Martin Stoll, George (and Bonnie) Kluver, and Henry Kluver.
