PAULA SOINE

PAULA SOINE 03/25/1956 - 10/04/2025 Paula Soine, 69, of Granite Falls passed away Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Avera Granite Falls Care Center. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 17, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Rock Haven Church in Granite Falls. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 5 - 7 p.m. at Rock Haven and will continue one hour prior to the service. Paula Jean Soine was born to Richard and Greta (Lemke) Leyse on March 25, 1956, in Granite Falls. She was baptized and confirmed at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. Paula attended school in Granite Falls and graduated in 1974. She furthered her education at Mankato State University. Paula met the love of her life, Curtis Soine, whom she married on November 13, 1976, at Granite Falls Lutheran Church. Because Curt was in the U.S. Navy, they moved to Norfolk, V.,a where he was stationed. They returned to Granite Falls where they have made their home ever since. While in Virginia, Paula worked for a local newspaper as an advertising editor. After returning to Minnesota, she was employed at numerous places and returned to college earning her bachelor's degree in 1996. Some of the places Paula worked at were the bookstore at the vo-tech, sawmill, State Farm, various non-profit local groups with her favorite job being her last when she worked for Hoff Chiropractic. Paula loved her family and her grandchildren were her joy. She was gifted with an eye for art and enjoyed painting with watercolors, doing anything with crafts and decorating; having a tote or two for each holiday season. Paula and Curt shared their art with others, especially during the annual Meander for 18 years. Paula was organized and making lists were her superpower. She loved traveling and taking road trips with Curt. She enjoyed cooking and loved trying new recipes and new cuisines. Paula's happy places were their cabin on Lake Minnewaska and her backyard oasis. Paula is survived by her husband, Curt; son, Eric (Ashley) Soine; daughter, Megan (Dustin) Butzin; mother, Greta Voudrie; grandchildren, Lauren Soine, Lucas Butzin, Thor Butzin, Andrew Soine; siblings, Rick (Sue) Leyse of Zimmerman, Jenny (Shorty) Henslin of Raymond; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bruce (Carol) Soine of Maynard, Mark (Lois) Soine of Montevideo, Sara (Myron) Hoogheem of Clark, S.D., Steve (Chris) Soine of Victoria; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Paula is preceded in death by her father, Richard; father-and mother-in-law, Leonard and Dorothy Soine; brother-in-law, Jon Soine. Arrangements are with Wing-Bain Funeral Home of Granite Falls.
