SANDRA TORGERSON Sandra Torgerson, 79, of Granite Falls passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at Avera Granite Falls Care Center. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Sandra Lee Torgerson was born on April 3, 1943, in Sleepy Eye, the daughter of Marvin and Laura (Sandmann) Rose. She attended school and graduated from the Morgan High School and went on to attend college in Mankato. It was at college that she met her future husband, Bernard Torgerson, and they were married. The couple moved to northern Minnesota for the first few years of their marriage and in 1972 they moved their family to Granite Falls, where Sandy fell in love with the area and community. Sandy worked at the Granite Falls Nursing Home for over 40 years as a nurse's aide. In 2010, she moved into Henry Hill in Granite Falls where she made many friends. You could find her almost every day on the first floor of Henry Hill playing cards with several of her friends, having coffee and making memories. Once the Farmer's Market opened, Sandy would go every week. She loved being a mom and adored her grandchildren, doting on them at every opportunity. Sandy is survived by her children, Kathy Peterson (significant other, Tom Ansel), Karla (Lee) Olson, Bernie (Robyn) Torgerson, Gary Torgerson; grandchildren, Josh (Jen) Rodriguez, Ryan Etrheim, Tasha Neuman (significant other, Nathan Weber), Shawn Neumann, Katelyn Torgerson (significant other, Fabian Ortega), Mackenzie Torgerson, Tucker Olson, Jackson Torgerson, Olivia Torgerson; 10 great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Laura Rose; husband, Bernie Torgerson Sr.; sister, Mary Lou Evenson; brother, Russel Rose.
