Sam Bailey Obituary
He was born on Nov. 13, 1944, and was the son of the late A.B. "Gusty" and Emma Lou Dance Bailey.
On Aug. 3, 1968, he married Kay Thompson Bailey. He owned and operated the Bailey Lumber and Hardware Company in Walton for 38 Years. He was a former member and deacon of the Marcus Crooked Creek Baptist Church, a current member and deacon of the Williamstown Baptist Church and loved to fish, ride horses and camping.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Thompson Bailey of Williamstown; a son, Glen (Carey) Bailey of Walton; a daughter, Debbie (Hank) Bailey Hankinson of Williamstown and four grandchildren, Emmalie Hankinson, Nicole Hankinson, Austin Bailey and Wyatt Bailey.
Funeral services were held on June 1 at the Williamstown Baptist Church with Steve Kinman officiating.
Pallbearers for the service were Glen Bailey, Hank Hankinson, Darrell Lovelace, Mike Taylor, Joel Thompson and Carl Simpson.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be H.A. Thompson, Bill Thompson, Ted Thompson, Brad Dance, Craig Dance, Doug Dance, Bob Hendrix, Bob Atha, Don Crupper, Kim Crupper, Jeff Dunaway and Larry Denny.
Burial was in the Hill Crest Cemetery in Dry Ridge.
