John Whitmore Obituary

John David Whitmore, age 25, of Leitchfield, died Wednesday, July 15, 2015, in Leitchfield.

He was born on Sept. 4, 1989, in Leitchfield, the son of David and Lynda Lively Whitmore.

He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 181, and a member of the Leitchfield United Methodist Church.

Other than his parents, he is survived by a sister, Lauren Rumpel (Nick) and two nieces, Olivia and Lila Rumpel of Georgetown, Ind.; maternal grandparents Charles and Faye Lively of Leitchfield; and paternal grandparents Fred and Mildred Whitmore of Louisville.

Cremation was chosen and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.

The Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield is in charge of the arrangements.

Expressions of sympathy can take the form of donations in John's name to the Kentucky Sheriff's Boys and Girls Ranch at the Grayson County Sherriff's Office, the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org, the Community Alliance Food Bank in honor of Sue Sims, or to the charity of your choice.
