Andrew Nunez Obituary

Andrew James Nunez

Great Falls — Andrew James Nunez, age 28, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, August 17, 2017. He was loved by many and leaves family and friends grieving his loss. Andrew was born on February 27, 1989, to Tony and Cheryl Nunez in San Antonio, TX. He joined his brother, Joey Nunez, who was only 14 months older than he was. When Andrew was 4 years old, they moved to Great Falls, MT, and no matter where life took Andrew, Montana was always the place that he considered home. In 2000, Andrew gained a step-mother, Christina, who loved him as her own. In 2004, he was blessed with a younger brother Gus, who he adored. Andrew loved his family whole heartedly and his love is what will help us through this difficult time.

Andrew loved sports, all sports, a lot of sports; watching them and playing them. His biggest love though was basketball and he recently told us that some of his happiest memories were when he played for the CMR Rustlers. His second love was golf and he shared many happy memories on the links with his family and friends. For Andrew, if there was a game on or a sport to be played he was happy.

Andrew always said that he wanted to come back to Montana and we were hopeful that day would come soon. Andrew struggled in his last few years, and while this is the dark part of his story, it is certainly not his whole story and will not define him. We hope that all who loved him and all who have memories of him will remember his good story. How he loved with his whole heart, his infectious smile and laughter, his strong work ethic, his generosity and willingness to help his friends whenever they needed him, his sweet spirit, and how he touched so many lives in his 28 years. This is the Andrew to be remembered and cherished. We know that Andrew tried to help many that were suffering as he was. Our prayer to you if you are struggling is to please reach out to someone for help.

Andrew leaves behind his mother Cheryl Buel (McGaheysville, VA) his father and stepmother, Tony and Christina Nunez (Great Falls, MT), his brothers Joey (McGaheysville, VA) and Gus (Great Falls, MT), grandmother Jean Buel (NY), grandmother Mary Kennedy (Babb, MT) grandparents Leon and Liz Nunez (Amarillo, TX) and grandparents Roy and Mary Olson (Rapid City, SD) as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, and many others that lovingly considered Andrew as family. He was welcomed in to heaven by many that loved him that have passed before, family and friends alike.

Please join us in a celebration of his life on Saturday September 2, 2017 at 11:00 am at Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
