After returning from Iraq I read the West Point newspaper, Pointer View, which each week would publish news of graduates who gave their lives in the service of our country in Iraq and Afghanistan. My father went to high school in Great Falls and a close family member in Billings, so the article about CPT Peason caught my attention.
Also I have great respect for the quote from John F. Kennedy which Andrew cited, "In the long history of the world, only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour of maximum danger. I do not shrink from this responsibility - I welcome it." His exemplary life and service will always be remembered. Sincerely, Andrew Hugos, Master Sergeant (Ret), US Army

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Pearson Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,

Dear Cheyenne and Family,
I knew your Dad too when we were very young. He was one of the best soldiers in our unit and was liked by everyone. He ran really fast and was very smart. All of us wanted to be as great as he was. I am very sorry for your loss and know your Dad loves you very much and is watching over you.

Hi Cheyenne,
I don't know how old you are, but, you are very wise for your years. I can tell from your writing how much you loved your Dad and how much he has meant to your life. I know you must miss him so much. I bet his heart must be bursting with pride to see what a beautiful child he has brought into this world. It is good to remember your Dad and the good times you had to together. I know your Mom must be doing a great job too, because you know you have someone to count on and share your feelings. When we lose someone we love so much, it can make us feel so different things. I am glad that you are finding ways to work things through. I liked your story about how your Dad would come and put you and your sister back into bed at night. That was a nice story and a good memory of your Dad. Your Dad will always have a special place in your heart and he will feel your love and it will keep him safe and warm and make him smile. Thank you Cheyenne for sharing your thoughts and stories with us.

Andrew R. Pearson is my dad. I miss him alot right now. Every day I sit there just wondering what he is up to and I think he is whatching me thinking the same thing . Also because at night he used to catch me and my sister playing during the night and would have to come and tell us to lay down again and he would come and put us back into are beds again. We ave had alot of great memories with my dad. My mom used to tell me that when Ifirst sall my dad I was scared of him and I would hide behind the staircase. We are doing good so far as we go on and viit him every so often to say hi or to just ang out for a little bit. I am sort of like my dad because I really liked to run and so did my dad so we had alot of that in common. I got my looks from my special caring mom. Whenever I need her she is there for me like if I need someone to talk to about something.

My deepest condolences go out to you and your extended family. It has taken a while to post in this guest book for Drew. He was such an outstanding man and cared so much about not only the Soldier's but their families as well. He is still very greatly missed here at FT Hood as well as by his Soldier's serving overseas, and anyone else that has ever had the pleasure of coming in contact with him. Jo, all of us HHC Ladies miss you a great deal as well. Thanks for being such an outstanding FRG Leader. We miss you and Drew and you will forever be in our thoughts and prayers.

Prayer for Peace
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen

I am Cpt. Pearson's wife and I wanted to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for our family. I have read everyone's post and have printed some of them for our children to one day read. He loved being a soldiers and always wanted the best for his soldiers and their families. He expected the best out of everyone because he strived so hard to be the best person who could...which he succeded at. He was an amazing soldier, husband and father. Life without him will be difficult, but I know that he is up there telling me that I have a job to do and raise our children and that is what I will continue to do till on day we are together again. I will definitely miss my husband, my friend, my soulmate and my hero.

To the family of CPT Drew Pearson:
I cannot express how saddened I am by your loss. I knew CPT Pearson when he was in 7-10 Cav, and Col Thompson always had positive things to say about him. I dealt with him on a daily basis as he was the S-1, and I was the PSD Platoon Sergeant. We always discussed Col Thompson's schedule and what he had going on. I have a great amount of respect for him. I am truly sorry for your loss, and send my deepest condolences.

To the family and parents of Andrew I want you to know that you are not alone in the grief you are feeling. I too know what you are going through and what you will go through in the coming weeks and months ahead. You will have many questions as to why? You will have many things to get ready or go through and that should be done in time. Sometimes it just can’t be faced and that’s ok, for you will know when the time is right for you. There is no right or wrong way to grieve it’s an individual journey that unfortunately we now have to take. I ask that God give the comfort, strength and courage that you are going to need. When and if the time is right for you please contact me. You can cry, vent, or just talk as only another person who has been where you are can really know what you are going through. May God continue to be with you and heal you.

To the Family and Friends of this Soldier:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.

Andrew Pearson's Family,
I recently found out what happened and want to let you know what a great person he was to me. I was stationed with Andrew at Ft Lewis and had the pleasure of being his squad leader as a younger soldier. Andrew was always the best at everything he did and gave 110% all the time. He was always the light in the darkness and could be counted on to get things done. I have lost a true friend, and our country a great patriot. It was a privilege and honor to serve with Andrew and he will be missed. You will always be in our prayers.

With every visit I made to the Academy during my son’s time there, I was always in awe of the fine young men and women that make up the Long Grey Line. Each and every one stood out as the best of the best. As I met my son’s friends, and we shook hands for the first time, I would look into their eyes and knew I was in the presence greatness. Drew and my son Alex shared their time, served shoulder to shoulder, helping each other complete the mission. I am without doubt that Drew was truly one that had no problem filling the standard and did it with courage, duty, and honor.
One of my most treasured moments during each visit to West Point was the short time I would spend at the Cadet Chapel. Nothing on earth gave me more reverence then standing quietly at the back of the chapel as I read the Cadet Prayer. I have reprinted for you here.
The Cadet Prayer
O God - Our Father - Thou Searcher of Men’s hearts - help us to draw near to thee in sincerity and truth. May our religion be filled with gladness and may our worship of thee be natural. Strengthen and increase our admiration for honest dealing and clean thinking - and suffer not our hatred of hypocrisy and pretence ever to diminish. Encourage us in our endeavor to live above the common level of life. Make us choose the harder right instead of the easier wrong - and never to be content with a half-truth when the whole can be won. Endow us with the courage that is born of loyalty to all that is noble and worthy - that scorns to compromise with vice and injustice and knows no fear when truth and right are in jeopardy. Guard us against flippancy and irreverence in the sacred things of life. Grant us new ties of friendship and new opportunities of service. Kindle our hearts in fellowship with those of a cheerful countenance - and soften our hearts with sympathy for those who sorrow and suffer. Help us to maintain the honor of the Corps untarnished and unsullied and to show forth in the lives the ideals of West Point in doing our duty to Thee and to our Country. All of which we ask in the name of the Great Friend and Master of Men. Amen
These words are so clear and the standard so high. From what I have been told, Drew truly lived these words, not only on the battlefield but in every aspect of his life. It is always a tragedy to lose one of the best, one of such greatness, yet it is such a blessing that we had CPT. Andrew Pearson for the time he served and gave to us all. His selfless dedication to his family, his troops, and his country will live in our hearts forever.
Thank you Pearson Family, for the unforgettable gift you have given us all.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

In Memory of Andrew ~ ( Debra Estep )

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Andrew, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
