Jacob Charles "Chuck" Maedche

Great Falls —Jacob Charles "Chuck" Maedche, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2013 of natural causes at the age of 76.

At his request there will be no services. Cremation has taken place. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.

He was born on July 22, 1936 to August & Juliana (Vervorn) Maedche in Burt, North Dakota. He attended school thru the 8th grade in Hebron, North Dakota. He joined the Marine Corps during the Korean War and worked in the UDT program for 4 years. He then moved to Livingston, Montana to be near his sisters, Ida and Marie. He moved to Great Falls and worked for the Great Falls Smelter in ECR as a lead burner for

19 years. On the weekends he was a bouncer for the J bar T Bar for several years. Once the Smelter closed, Chuck worked for the Deaconess (Benefis) Hospital until he retired at the age of 62. After retirement he worked part time for 3 years as a school crossing guard at Whittier and West Elementary schools.

Chuck met and married Jean Sciuchetti in 1968. They celebrated their 45th Anniversary in March.

Chuck loved fishing at Holter Lake and spent many years up there fishing and boating with family and friends.

Chuck is survived by his wife Jean and loving companion Mandy of Great Falls; son Ron (Berta) and their pets Flash and Cooter of Sacramento, CA; brothers Ruben and family of WY, Willie and family of TX; sister Alice Hedlend and family of Bozeman; many nieces and nephews; and one great niece and great nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Juliana; sisters, Martha, Marie, and Ida; brothers Art, Ernie, Roland, Gofried and Albert.
