Curtis Lumley Obituary

Curtis "Scott" Lumley, 47, of 504 13th St. N., a self-employed carpenter and landscaper, died in an accidental drowning Tuesday off the Ulm bridge.
Visitation is 3 to 7 p.m. today at Creel Funeral Chapel in Lewistown. His funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday at Creel, with burial in Grass Range Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Dixie; his children Talon and Tess Lumley; stepchildren Lacy Walters and Robert and Kira Blair; a brother, Shane Porter; two uncles, Gary and Kraig Kruger; and several nieces, including Sarah, Nicole and Erin, who was also his goddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Porter, and his mother, Yvonne Kruger, next to whom he will be buried.
Scott was born Jan. 23, 1959, in Dillon, Mont., and attended schools in Montana, South Carolina and Illinois. He returned to Great Falls in 1998 and had worked as a laborer and in carpentry and landscaping.
Considered a "philosopher" to his family and friends, Scott was a very kind-hearted man who loved being outdoors more than anywhere else. He was outgoing, outspoken and very lively, and ready for an adventure or challenge. His favorite band was The Beatles, and one of his favorite songs was John Lennon's "Imagine."
Scotty would want us all to know he is at peace and back with some of the ones he loved the most.

Dixie, Robert, and Kira,

I was shocked and saddened to hear about Scott. I was out of town and never heard until today. My heart aches for your loss and I will miss him dearly. I loved listening to Scott talk about life and will always remember our trip to the Rockin the Rivers concert and his kindness to me and Jeremy.

My memories of Scott were the way he always kept things upbeat and cheerful when the rest of us were down in the dumps. Bless his sole.

I would like to extend my sympathy to the whole Kruger family. I grew up with them and my kids grew up with their kids, Scott being the same age as my children. It is always a sad time when we lose someone we love. May God be with you all. Scott is now with his mom and at peace.
