David Hoss

David J. Hoss died on March 27, 2016 at the age of 74. Dave had fought a 25 year battle with many different cancers as a result of Muir-Torre Syndrome. He passed peacefully in his sleep on Easter Sunday.

Dave was born on June 27, 1941 in Fargo, ND to Frank and Marian Hoss. He was the eldest of six children. He was raised in Jamestown ND and graduated from St. John's Academy in 1959. He graduated from St. John's University in Minnesota in 1963. After several years in the US Army, Dave studied at Montana State graduating in 1970 with a MS in Agriculture-Animal Nutrition. This lead to many years working in the cattle industry in Iowa, Colorado and Montana.

Dave is preceded in death by both parents. He is survived by brothers Jim (Kathy) of Fargo, Bill (Pat) of Omaha, Tony (Mary) of WA state, Chris (Susan) of Colorado, Hubert Ellwein (Kathy) of WA State and sister Duff Hnatiuk (Vic) of San Antonio. Dave is also survived by sons Brad of Cary, NC, Scott (Holly) of Cumming, GA, and Gregg (Heidi) of Cape Elizabeth, ME and four beautiful grandchildren, Ella, Lucas, Quinn, and Kaela. He is also survived by his life partner and dear friend, Stephanie Lee, of Great Falls.

Dave enjoyed many things in life to include hunting, golf, cooking and playing Bridge. As a long standing member of ACBL where he was a life master he enjoyed countless afternoons at the bridge table with many great friends. He will be greatly missed.

At his request, only military services at Tahoma National Cemetery will be held on Fri. May 6, 2016, 1:30pm.
