Esther Poor Obituary
Kalispell —Esther Marie Poor, age 79, of Kalispell, MT, passed away April 8th, and is now reunited in Heaven with her husband James who passed away on February 3rd, 2014.
Esther was born on December 11th, 1934 to Rudolph and Regina Gettel. She attended Power High School and Northern Montana College where she received her degree in Elementary Education. She married James Poor in 1955 and after a brief teaching career she and Jim lived and raised their four children, Bradley, Julie, Libby and Eric in Great Falls, MT.
Esther spent most of her children's growing up years as an amazing stay-at-home mom. She displayed warmth, love and generosity to all who knew her. She worked tirelessly for her church congregations in any capacity that was needed, in any situation. She will be remembered for her loving spirit, hard work ethic and humble heart.
Esther is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim, her sister Emily Dixon, and her daughter Julie O'Dell. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Naumann of Claremore, OK, brother Arnie Gettel of Power, son Brad Poor and family of Clancy, daughter Libby Sutherland and family of Columbia Falls, son Eric Poor and family of Billings, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service in her honor will be held at Peace Lutheran Church in Great Falls, Montana, Saturday April 26, 2014 at 11:00 AM. A reception will follow.

To Brad, Libby, Eric and families. I have had the joy of working and fellowship with Esther with Good Shepherd Aux and LWML. I lost contact with her after they moved from Helena. She was a great gal and loved by many. I have a good memory of Esther out running to the store in Helena with a sack of groceries. God be with you all...
