Joseph Sedgwick Obituary

Joseph Sedgwick

Harlowtonb - This week vintage western movie channels lost their biggest fan!

Joe Keeley Sedgwick 75 left us on Monday afternoon, January 8, 2018. He truly was one of the last real cowboys. Joe was born on January 25, 1942 in Billings, the son of Tilford and Florence G. (Martin) Sedgwick. He grew up on a ranch near Two Dot and the Crazy Mountains. From riding his Shetland pony and roping as a boy to riding saddle broncs at high school rodeos, Joe forever embraced the cowboy way of life.

Joe was an outstanding football player at Harlowton High School. He went on to play at Rocky Mountain College and was a member of the rodeo team at Rocky as well.

On May 27, 1962 Joe was united in marriage to Kathleen Fochs in Harlowton. Together they raised their three children on the family ranch at Two Dot.

Improving genetics in cattle and sheep was a priority and a deep love of the land never wavered.

He was on the Two Dot school board, President of Wheatland County Woolgrowers and President of Stockgrowers as well.

Joe took great pride in his children's athletic and academic endeavors and college degrees as well.

Joe loved children, ice cream, vintage western movies, rodeos, playing cards and good Red Angus cattle.

Survivors include his wife Kathleen, his two sons Kevin (Darla) Sedgwick, Chad (BranDee) Sedgwick, and his daughter Courtney (Jason) Bake, seven grandchildren Seth (Angela) Sedgwick and Kelby Sedgwick, Lauren, Tristen and Kindra Sedgwick, and Keeley and Kyler Bake and a sister Donna Morang.

He was preceded in death by his parents Tilford and Genevieve Sedgwick, son Keeley, brother George and granddaughter Shelby.
