Leonard Sanford Rue, 93, of Great Falls, an Army veteran and retired Air Force civil service em-ployee, died of natural causes Saturday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Rue of Great Falls; daugh-ters Jan (John) French of Otis, Ore., Joanne Bishop of Belt, Lynda (Greg) White of Watauga, Texas, Karen (Pat) Moe of Great Falls and Bonnie (Scot) Schwisow of Lyn-den, Wash.; a son, Paul (Carol) Rue of Great Falls; sisters Alma Adams of Hamilton and Doris (Chet) MacMillan of Shreveport, La.; 20 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Leonard Sanford Rue was born May 22, 1914, in Minot, N.D., where he was raised and educated, graduating from Minot High School. He was inducted into the U.S. Army on March 12, 1941, in San Francisco and completed basic training in Fort Sill, Okla. He became a member of the Tank Destroyer Battalion No. 776 and was shipped overseas in 1943. Some of the battles and campaigns he fought in included Tunisia, Naples-Goggia, Romearno, Rhine-land and Central Europe during his four and a half years of service.
He married Mildred Erickson on Sept. 14, 1952, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Bowbells, N.D.
His first job was working for Standard Oil Co. He also worked in cabinet shops in California. After he was discharged from the Army, he worked for the Corps of Engineers, followed by a job with Site Aviation Task Force as an industrial specialist. He retired in 1977 after more than 24 years of working for the government.
Leonard's main interest was his family. He was also a collector of tools and cars. There was nothing Leonard enjoyed more than a good bargain. He shared nearly 55 years of marriage with his wife, Mildred, and was surrounded by his loving family at the time of his death. His faithful dog, Rusty, will be joining him as well.

I know this is late, but I just wanted you to that I'm sorry for the loss of such fun and loving man. Him and millie are in most of my childhood memories. I loved going to their home as a little girl and playing with all the kids. He had a way about him that always made me feel safe secure. He will truely be missed. You all will be in my prayers and thoughts.
