Lois Drew Obituary
Lois June Drew (Schultz) passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at the Tendernest Assisted Living Home in Billings.
Lois was born in Big Sandy on June 6, 1926, to Walter and Mabel Hettrick. She was raised on the family farm/ranch helping her parents any way she could in those difficult Depression times. She attended school in Box Elder through the 11th grade and then finished her senior year, graduating from Big Sandy High School in 1944.
Lois married Dale Drew on March 6, 1946, and together they had three children: Gail, Les and Wade. She worked as a cook for the Big Sandy school lunch program for many years until retiring and moving to Great Falls after the death of her husband.
She spent many years in Great Falls meeting new people, traveling and spending winters in Yuma, Arizona, with her various Big Sandy friends. Along the way, she married two more times, to Vade Hamma and Peter Schultz, Peter being her favorite dance partner in the world.
Lois is survived by her three children, Gail (Larry) McClellen of Amarillo, Texas, Les Drew of Red Wing, Minnesota, and Wade (Lori) Drew of Westby. She leaves five grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mabel Hettrick; her brother, Walter Hettrick Jr.; and her husbands, Dale Drew, Vade Hamma and Peter Schultz.
A future family graveside service is planned at the Big Sandy Cemetery.
