M. Pepper Obituary

M. Virginia Pepper, 91, of 1109 6th Ave. N., a retired school teacher and homemaker, died of natural causes Thursday at her home.
Visitation is Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Croxford Funeral Home and Crematory and Thursday until service time. Her funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday at Croxford Funeral Home, with burial at 2 p.m. Friday in Sunset Memorial Garden Cemetery in Billings.
Virginia is survived by a son, Robert "RC" Pepper of Champagne, Ill.; a daughter, Penny (Jim) Spooner of Great Falls; grandchildren Robert (Amy) Pepper of Virginia and Brandy (Tom) Tice of California; and two great-grandchildren, Zoe Tice of California and Ethan Pepper of Virginia.
Virginia was born Nov. 28, 1916, in Billings. She was raised and educated in Billings, graduating from Eastern Montana College with a degree in education. While teaching, she met Bob Pepper and they were married on Nov. 1, 1940. Together they had two children, Robert "RC" and Penny.
Virginia was a schoolteacher until she had her daughter Penny, then she became a very happy homemaker, mother and wife.
In 1962, Bob and Virginia and their family moved to Great Falls to buy Pioneer Roofing, where she became the bookkeeper and secretary and still kept up their home. They later sold the business and their home in Valley View, and bought a trailer at Countryside Village. Bob passed away on Jan. 21, 1992, and Virginia lived at Countryside Village until 2007, when she moved to Cambridge Court. Virginia had been living at Cambridge Court for the last year and a half. She was happy and in good health living there.
Virginia and Bob loved to travel in their trailer and motorhome all over the United States and Mexico, ending up in Yuma, Ariz., more often than not, visiting with family and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; sisters-in-law; and relatives that passed before her.
She was well-loved and will be very missed.

Dear Penny,
Please accept my deepest sympathy and prayers for the terrible loss of your mother. Your mother was a very gracious woman; accepting others for who they were and never judging. From my teenage years, a fond memory of your mother was her sitting at the dining room table working on her daily crossword puzzles. Mrs. Pepper was a true treasure. Sending prayers and condolences, Linda Galvin
