Megan McKenna Meriwether

GREAT FALLS —Megan McKenna Meriwether, 18, of Great Falls, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016.

Visitation is Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel, 1410 13th Street South, Great Falls. Schnider Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. The family has planned a balloon release and candlelight vigil that will be held at Gibson Park on Friday, September 30, 2016 from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. All are invited to attend.

Megan was born on January 7, 1998 in Great Falls, Montana to Richard Meriwether and Donna Nelson of Cascade, Montana. She attended elementary and junior high school in Cascade and was a senior at Great Falls High School. She was a clarinet player in the Pep Band at Great Falls High School and she had a seat in the Symphonic Band. She also had an interest in journalism and worked on the student newspaper. She kept busy with school and work. Megan enjoyed her job at Albertson's on 10th Avenue South in Great Falls, where she was employed at the time of her passing. Megan was also making plans to attend college upon her anticipated graduation in 2017. She was interested in engineering.

Megan is survived by her parents, Rick and Donna; sister Melissa Meriwether of Cascade; grandmother Josephine Meriwether of Harrison, Michigan; grandparents Roger and Helga Smith of Pinckney, Michigan; aunt Jacqueline Joliff (Robert); uncles Kenneth Smith (Lori) and Michael Meriwether; and her cousins, Taylor, Shawntay, Robert, and Charlane, all of Michigan.

Megan will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was loved by many. She was independently-minded, kind, and trusting to a fault. She was a friend to all and she loved helping people.
