Milton Stringer Obituary
Milton Edward Stringer passed away the morning of March 31, 2016, at St. John's Lutheran Ministries in Billings, Montana, where he has resided since August 2015, he was 89 years old.
Milton was preceded in death by his parents Milton & Inga Stringer, of Great Falls, and brother Denis of Alaska. His surviving sisters are Jean Hunter, of Great Falls, and Irene Hawley, of Southern California. Daughters Cindy Wagner, Billings, MT, Valerie Rizzotto, Southern California and Pamela Halfner, Washington State.
Milton served our country in the US Marine Corps, he was an amazing artist and storyteller - he was never at a loss for words. Reading was his passion, he so loved spending time on the trail with daughter, Cindy, as she competed in many, many Endurance Rides throughout the Western States, early in his move from Great Falls to Billings.
Over the course of his life Milton tried his hand at a number of professions, he was an amazing sign painter - all free hand - he had signs and billboards throughout Montana and Nevada. He will surely be missed - May He forever Rest in Peace! Condolences may be shared with the family by visiting smithfuneralchapels.com.
Viewing will be Tuesday, April 5th from 3 - 5pm, Smith's West Chapel - 304 34th West, Billings, Mt. Graveside service will be Wednesday, April 7th at 1pm, Yellowstone National Cemetery, Laurel, Mt.

Our condolences are with all of Milt's family on this occasion of his passing. I spent many a day and night in long conversation about every subject under moon with Milt. He was definitely the most positive influence during those times. A smile came just at the mention of his name to those of us who knew and enjoyed him here in Great Falls. His stories were amazing and always filled with numerous facts that enticed the listener for more details. I also worked with Milt painting everything from a house in East Glacier to a gas station in Miles City, the road trips created many more stories to pass the time.
