Havre —Robert "Bob" Prim, 87, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017, at Northern Montana Care Center. Cremation has taken place, and memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017, at Holland & Bonine Funeral Chapel with Deacon Tim Maroney officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Robert Nathan Prim was born on May 15, 1929, in Helena, MT, to Mary Violet (Richeson) Prim and Albert W. Prim, Sr. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School in Helena's 6th Ward for 8 years. The family moved to Livingston, MT, where Bob completed his secondary education at Park Senior High School, graduating in 1947. In high school, Bob worked at as a pin setter at the Livingston Lanes bowling alley and as a crew caller for the Northern Pacific Railroad. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy following in his big brother Al's footsteps. He proudly served four years on a mine sweeper as a radioman during the Korean Conflict. Bob was extremely proud of their motto "Where the Fleet Goes, We've Been". After his service, he attended both Montana State University and University of Montana studying History, and forever identified himself as a Griz/Cat. Bob married Beverley Elaine Shinn in 1956, and became Dad to Caren, Sheila, and Lisa. During the next few years Pamela, Eric and Mary completed their family. Continuing his career, Bob moved the family to Havre to become a Burlington Northern Chemist/Lab manager. He retired in 1984. His retirement job was daily coffee meetings with the "Oxford Committee" until he could no longer attend due to health reasons.

Bob enjoyed family, friends, corny jokes, baseball, and writing poems for family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, big brother Al "Bud", sister-in-law Lorraine, grandson Jason, and precious nephews Mitch and Mark.

Survivors are wife, Beverley; daughters, Caren, Sheila (Michael), Lisa (Len), Pamela (Cal), and Mary (Rich); son R. Eric; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren, and his cherished nieces and nephews.

As Bob would say, "God Bless and shoot low Sheriff, they're ridin' Shetlands!"
