Tim Newman Obituary

Timothy Bruce Newman

Great Falls —Timothy Bruce Newman died unexpectedly Friday, October 18th, at the age of 53 from a fatal gunshot wound.

Tim was born in Arcadia, California, and spent many summers residing with his family on ranches in Southeastern Montana. In 2001, he made his lifelong dream of moving to the big sky country a reality when he took-up residency here in Montana. He owned and operated Hometech Electric and serviced Generac Generators in Great Falls and the surrounding areas. As an avid outdoorsman and conservationist, Tim enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding, photography of wildlife, and any other activity that took place in the great outdoors within the mountains of the Augusta area, which he loved so much.

Tim is survived by his wife, Jackie Newman of Great Falls, MT; a daughter, Kristy Newman of North Pole, AK; step-son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Cara Elias of Boise, ID; and three grandchildren: Sophia, Adrian, and Hayden Elias of Boise, ID. He is also survived by his mother, Eldana McAllister of South Dakota; two sisters: Lanette Cothey (Tom) of California, and Leah Hansen (Tom) of Indiana; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Newman, and brother, Daniel Newman.

As per Tim's wishes, a funeral will not be taking place. A private family viewing took place on Tuesday, October 22nd. He will be cremated and his ashes spread in the Rocky Mountains in the spring with a small memorial for friends and family in honor of his life and legacy. Specifics of the memorial will be announced in late spring.

Tim was always ready and willing to help a neighbor, friend, or stranger in need. He will be missed by many and always hold a place in the hearts of those who knew him.

I only met Tim Newman once. He came to my place on his own time to help me. He was at the time helping another person move. More people like him would make for a better world. I am sure we all will miss him.
