Gloria Schell

1939 - 2023

Gloria Joy Schell of Casper, WY, passed away at the age of 83, on Saturday June 24th, 2023. She was born November 24, 1939 in Greeley, CO to John and Emma (Brunemeier) Hart of Briggsdale, CO. She graduated from New Raymer High School. She grew up east of Briggsdale and lived there until she met and married her husband of 50 years Charles (Chuck) Schell on December 9, 1958 and then moved to Platteville, CO. Gloria worked for the Weld County Government for more than 30 years. She was responsible for caring for the solarium at the new county complex, she had quite the green thumb and loved taking care of the plants. She enjoyed family dinners and gardening. She was proud of her grandchildren and could be heard bragging about them to anyone who would listen. She was a member of the Windsor Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles (Chuck) Schell, sister Vera Acola, brothers Robert Hart, Harold Hart and Paul Hart. Daughter in law Barbara (Barb) Schell, grandchild Aurora Skinner and great grandson Aiden Walter. She is survived by her son Don Schell (Casper, WY), Grandchildren Anja (Adriel) Walter, Geoffrey (Mari) Schell, Anthony (Kaitlynn) Stieb, and 9 great grandchildren, Connor, Parker, Kendra, Addison, Declan, Flynn, William, Viktor, and Cade. Visitation will be held Friday, July 7, 2023 5-7pm at Stoddard Funeral Home 3205 W. 28th St Greeley 80634. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 8, 2023 at 10:00am also at Stoddard Funeral Home. Internment at Sunset Memorial Gardens following the ceremony.
