Kathy Moore Obituary

Kathryn Lynn Moore, 69, of Greeley passed away in her home on Saturday, August 28, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer. She peacefully entered into the arms of her heavenly Father while surrounded by her loving family. She was born on May 29, 1952, in Colorado Springs, CO, to James Howard and Jo Ann (McKinley) Fowler. Kathy started her education at Cameron Elementary in Greeley and graduated from Greeley West High School in 1970. She was a member of the Greeley West Poms team and recently reconnected with treasured friends at her 50th class reunion. Kathy was the beloved wife and best friend of her one-and-only love, Ricky John Moore. Married on March 12, 1971, they recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. She was a devoted wife, mother to four children, and grandmother to 12 grandchildren. Kathy was a stay-at-home mom when her children were young, then worked for several local State Farm agents before retiring to spend more time with her grandchildren. Kathy enjoyed gardening and hiking & camping with her family. Tennis was a common interest of her and Ricky, often traveling to major tournaments. Her most treasured time was spent with family, especially with her grandchildren who fondly referred to her as "Grammie." Kathy often helped them perform plays for family holidays, always had a craft table stocked, activities planned and a home-cooked meal prepared. Reading was a passion Kathy shared with her grandchildren and she read countless books to them. Kathy shared a special bond with her treasured friends, especially her prayer group who met regularly for over 30 years. They were devoted to Jesus and to one another in a way that many admired. Kathy had a gift for unconditionally loving everyone, and people felt loved and accepted from the moment they met her. As a member of Christ Community Church, she was involved in many church ministries and volunteered countless hours in the nursery. She also served many years as a camp counselor at Camp Cherith, a Christian youth camp. Kathy assured her family "it is well with my soul" and left a legacy of faith in Jesus. Blessed to have shared in her life are her husband Ricky, children; Rick (Diana) Moore, John (Katie) Moore, Jolie (Mike) Michaelson and Michelle (Matt) Finn, 12 grandchildren; Grant, Reagan, Will, Emery and Addisyn Moore, Cody, Noah and Paige Michaelson, Trevor and Natalie Moore, Hannah and Grant Finn, mother Jody (Will) Hott-Kulp, siblings; Kim Gilbert, Kelly (Mark) Newton, David (Leslie) Fowler, stepbrothers; Mark (Christie) and Hal (Kellie) Hott, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Jim Fowler, and stepfather, Bill Hott. Kathy will be celebrated on September 9, 2021, at 11am, for the love she poured into our lives. The celebration of her life will be held at Christ Community Church in Greeley, CO, with a reception to follow. Memorial gifts may be made to "Food for the Hungry", "American Cancer Society" or to "Ricky Moore" for a memorial bench at Monfort Park in her honor in care of Adamson Life Celebration Home, 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO, 80634. A beautiful tribute to a beautiful life, a life well-lived. Kathy was loved by all who knew her, and had an immeasurable impact on so many lives, especially those of her grandchildren. I wasn't born into her family, but she and Rick always made me feel as if I was. Rest in Peace, Kathy; you will not be forgotten.
