Kenneth R. Kniffen

1937 - 2021

Kenneth R. Kniffen, 83 of Greeley, Colorado, passed away August 2, 2021 at his home. Ken was born December 27, 1937, in South Dakota, to Harold and Pauline (Fyler) Kniffen. He married Sharon Leonard on August 5, 1957, in Lake Andes, South Dakota. Ken lived in South Dakota until 1964 when he moved to Greeley. He graduated from Lake Andes High School in South Dakota where he excelled in basketball, football and baseball. Ken worked as a route sales man for Frito Lay for 36 years. Ken enjoyed family gatherings, hard work, sports of all kinds including golf, bowling, fishing and pheasant hunting. He especially enjoyed the Bronco's and the Rockies. He liked listening to music and winning in Blackhawk. He is survived by his wife Sharon; sons Ken (Connie) Kniffen, and Keith (Cindy) Kniffen; daughter Julie (Joe) Tymkowych; sisters Charlotte Carda, and Claudette (Bob) Pesicka; sisters-in-law Lila (Denny) Dierks, Joan Kniffen, Polly Kniffen, Bev Kniffen; brother-in-law Verlin Leonard; grandchildren Chad (Kim) Tymkowych, Vickie (Greg) Cordova, Linsey (Cory) Walker, Travis (Krista) Kniffen, Ashley Kniffen and Kelsey Tymkowych; great-grandchildren Sammy, Ryder, Ayrienne, Maddox, Taytn, Zeke, Trajan and Wilder; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Ken was preceded in death by his parents; sister Lolly Thomson; brothers Sonny, Darold, Dean, Duane and Elmer Kniffen; sisters-in-law Linda Leonard and Germaine Kniffen; and brothers-in-law Ed Thomson and Ernie Carda.
