Arnold Malvitz Obituary

Malvitz, Arnold E.

Arnold E. Malvitz, 71, Bellevue resident, lost his battle with Alzheimer's disease, passing away peacefully on Saturday, January 17, 2015. Arnold was born April 29, 1943, in Alexandria, Louisiana, while his father served in the military. He graduated from Luxemburg High School in 1961 and earned an associate's degree in 1963 from NWTC as a machinist. On April 18, 1964, Arnold married the former Sharon Metzler and settled in Green Bay. Arnold's career included working at Nelson Machine, Cleereman Machine, and C.A. Lawton Company as a programmer, operator, and foreman. His love for working with steel and his strong work ethic inspired him to establish Malvitz Machine where he continued to service his customers until the onset of Alzheimer's disease. He was proud of his work and enjoyed the challenge of designing and creating unique parts to fill customers' specific needs. Arnold always considered himself a "Lathe Man". He enjoyed camping, traveling, gardening and spending family time at the cottage on the Oconto River. He will be remembered for his intelligence, devotion to his family, and unique sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharon (Metzler) Malvitz; daughters, Cynthia Malvitz Overly and Cheryl Malvitz (fiance Chris Jaworski); sons, David Malvitz and Dan (Ann) Malvitz; four grandchildren Brendon Overly, Jesse, Matthew and Alison Malvitz; brother Jim Malvitz; brothers-in-law Earl (Carol) Metzler and Milton (Shirley) Metzler.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Harriet (Siegmund) Malvitz and grandparents George and Elsie Siegmund, and George and Amanda (Corbisier) Malvitz.

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. after 3:00 pm Wednesday until time of service. Funeral service 7:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Carl Brewer officiating. Entombment in the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. On-line condolences may be sent to the Malvitz family at www.prokowall.com. In lieu of floral expressions a memorial fund has been established in Arnold's name.

The family wants to give special thanks to Pastor Carl Brewer from St. John Lutheran Church in Luxemburg, as well as the staff at Bornemann Nursing Home and Unity Hospice for their kind and loving attention to Arnold.
