Barbara Derepkowski Obituary

Derepkowski, Barbara J.

Barbara J. Derepkowski, at the young age of 72, passed away into the Lord's loving arms with her beloved husband, Ron and loving family at her side, Saturday, September 5, 2015.

Born to Rudolph and Mabel (Delorite) Unsinn, April 1, 1943. Barb lived in Green Bay all her life. She graduated from Preble High School and worked at Mrs. Karl's bakery for 35 years as a head Clerk and retired at the age of 56.

Barbara met her best friend, Ron Derepkowski and they were united in marriage, January 25, 1964 in Menominee, MI. They shared 51 years of wedded bliss and have both resided in Green Bay since the marriage. Together they raised two sons, Scott and Steve. She thought the world of her two boys.

Throughout Barb's life she and Ron spent 30+ years camping at Berry Lake with their boys. She enjoyed bowling and going on the tournament trips that would come up. Her most memorable and loved times were spent with Ron and Tootie and Wayne, vacationing for a month at a time to wherever their vehicle took them, especially Myrtle Beach, SC. Her favorite flowers were yellow roses and she would get mad because she could never keep that damn yellow rose bush in the back yard growing.

Holidays to Barb were the times that she always looked forward to. Her home was always decorated for every occasion that came up. Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving were the times that she loved most because family was always a priority to her. She spoiled every grandkid, her sons, their spouses and her husband. Her enjoyment of watching everyone open their gifts, find all those Easter eggs and stuffing everyone, besides the turkey at Thanksgiving was her pride and joy. She always remembered everyone's birthdays and wedding anniversaries and always called and sent cards on those special occasions.

Barb also enjoyed all the grandkids' sporting events and made every game for baseball, softball, volleyball and basketball. She and Papa were always permanent fixtures at every game that the grandkids played. There will be extremely sad moments when the grandkids will look over and not see her smiling face cheering them on. They will also miss hearing her rooting voice from the stands, whether she agreed with the refs or not.

Barbara is survived by her best friend and loving husband, Ron and her two sons. Scott and Kris and their children, Savannah, Josh (Melissa), Mindy and Michaela. Steve and Jodilynn and their children, Maddie, Paige and Bryar "Bug." She is further survived by a step-daughter that she has treated as her own, Victoria (Donny) Endries and their children, Eric (Renee) and Brad Williams and Dustin Endries. She also has 8 great-grandchildren. Barb adored her canine companion, Freeway, and all of the doggie kisses he gave.

Barb has three sisters that also survive her: Sandy Butterfield and Tina and Laurie Beyer; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, that she spent cherished time watching the football games downstairs at their home (on that huge theater screen TV), Shirley and Norb Christoph and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her biological father, Rudolph Unsinn, who passed when Barb was 7. Her mother, Mabel remarried Bill Beyer, who raised her as his own daughter. Also preceding her in death were her two brothers, Mike Unsinn and Kenny Beyer; mother-in-law, Eunice Derepkowski and her brother-in-law, Uncle Jim Butterfield.

"I want to thank Dr. Gautam, Dr. Rohde and Dr. Bosco for all they did for my wife during her battle with pancreatic cancer. I also want to thank the nurses at Vince Lombardi Cancer Center at Aurora Hospital. I also want to thank David Kline, the volunteer who always put a smile on my wife's face during her chemo. I want to thank the Odd Fellows Home, my wife always thought, and so did I, that you were wonderful to her. Thank you all. I appreciate it. A special thanks to Janet Klika who always took care of our rides and appointments. A thank you to Barb's hospice nurse, Jessica. A special thank you to my sister and brother-in-law Shirley and Norb for faithfully coming twice a week to visit and lift Barb's spirits.

Thank you to all who helped in extending my wife's life during her illness with the kind and compassionate care given to her. You will never know how much I appreciate that extra time to spend with Barb."

-Ron

You have my deepest sympathy on your immeasurable loss. Life is so short and those we love are gone from our lives too quickly. God's promise to empty the grave in the near future is found at Hosea 13:14. May the God of loyal love comfort you during your time of sorrow. Irene A.
