Bradley Schmitt Obituary

Schmitt, Corporal Bradley Joseph

Corporal Bradley Joseph Schmitt passed away September 26, 2015 at the age of 21. He was born to Joseph Schmitt and Amy (Magee) February 23, 1994. Bradley was serving in the United States Marine Corps at Camp Pendleton, CA. He was a part of the Vengeance HMLA-469 family. He went to the Howard-Suamico School District, receiving his diploma from Bay Port High School in 2012.

He is survived by his mother; father; sisters, Emily and Rylee Jo; brother, Maxwell; grandparents, Cletus and Beverly Schmitt; aunts and uncles, Beth Lacount, Mary Baumgart, Mike (Lori) Schmitt, Paul (Marie) Schmitt, Pat (Patti) Schmitt, Tom (Kelly) Schmitt, Debbie (Bob) Huettl, Greg (Kathy) Magee, Michele (Bruce) Meyer and Doug (Jane) Magee.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Andrew; grandparents, Wallace and Joyce Magee; aunt, Ruth Schmitt and great grandparents Rita and Sherman Goddard.

He saw many travels throughout his short life such as Costa Rica, Punta Cana and Mexico with his family; Japan, South Korea, Nepal and many other places serving his country with fellow Marines. He enjoyed boating, jet skiing and 4-wheeling at the family cabin in Townsend, WI, spending Thanksgiving with family at the hunting cabin in Tipler, WI.

It is overwhelming to find out just how many people he has touched the lives of, especially his close cousins and relatives, and hear the kindness he has given. Overall, he loved leading rides through the wonderful sites in California on his motorcycle with fellow Marines and friends. When asked how he was doing, he would always reply "Living the Dream."

He will be sadly missed, "Our Special Marine", Unit 16175.

Thank you to family and friends for all their support and with special thanks to Gunnery Sergeant Pittarelli giving the family his kindness and time.

"Semper Fi"

Although I didn't get to know you personally... as a fellow member I had high hopes for you. As a human I looked up to you. You never failed to meet the expectations that brought upon you.

Your kind nature touched hundreds if not thousands across the planet.

I think it's safe to say from everyone with you in ZC that we will miss never getting to talk with you again.

To Members of Bradley's family,
I am writing to express my sympathy on hearing of the loss of your son, Bradley. The past days have no doubt been filled with many people, stories, sadness and such love for that young man. I did not know your son, but wanted you to know how grateful I am that he was serving our country. You all played a role in that - helping him grow into the person who would decide to become a Marine. I sat on my porch steps watching St. Paul's Church as many people came to pay their respects over the past two days. I heard the beautiful bagpipe rendition of "Amazing Grace" for Bradley and for all of you. As the 10 motorcycles and 75+ cars left the parking lot - family and friends setting out to lay his body to rest - I prayed that you would receive the strength and comfort you needed each day. Especially to Bradley's siblings: Remember that your brother will always be with you in spirit and good memories. Peace be with you.
A caring neighbor, Toni Rozek

My condolences to the entire Schmitt family. As a Mom, the loss of a child is a parents worst nightmare. We have a son who is currently a U.S. Navy Seabee so we know the trials & tribulations a military family endures. My husband who is a singer/songwriter wrote a song called, "Fallen Heroes" and a line from that song says it all..." If a Fallen Hero dies today in liberty & right, there'll be a new star in the Northern Sky tonight." Your son is one of those stars. He is a HERO!!! I can't help but wonder if we are not related somehow. My maiden name was Schmitt & you don't find it spelled this way very often. I am a Schmitt from the Algoma/Casco area & related to the Schmitt's from Manitowoc/Two Rivers area. Also 3rd cousin to Mayor Jim Schmitt. God Bless your family for the sacrifices you and your son have made for the freedoms we have enjoyed. Becky "Schmitt" Grasso
