David Haven Obituary

David A. Haven, 61, Green Bay, passed away peacefully on Nov. 10, 2011, at home with his family by his side. Dave lived life to the fullest since his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer in May, 2008. He was born on Mar. 6, 1950, in Green Bay to the late Harold and Lois (Dickey) Haven. Dave was a 1968 graduate of East High and attended Pharmacy School at UW-Madison. On Feb. 19, 1982, he married Debra Bloom at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Green Bay. He worked at Streu's Pharmacy for 16 years and then Shopko Pharmacy another 20 years. Dave loved the outdoors, especially kayaking, fishing, and biking. He also enjoyed gardening, blues music, and sampling microbrews with friends. He was an avid Wisconsin sports fan and especially enjoyed the Badgers. Dave will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband and father.

He is survived by his wife, Deb; daughters, Sara Haven and Kari Haven (special friend, Derek Dimmer); siblings, Mark (Brenda) Haven, Jean (Jim) Hanrahan, Margaret Haven; niece, Erin Cruz; nephew, Will Haven; mother-in-law, Char Bloom; brothers and sisters-in-law, Rob (Cheryl) Bloom and David (Jean) Bloom; and many relatives and great friends.

Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. on Sunday from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Parish wake service 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 2040 Hillside Lane, from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. Memorial Mass 11 a.m. Monday at the church with Rev. David Pleier officiating. Burial at the Nicolet Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be expressed at www.prokowall.com.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund is being established to fight pancreatic cancer.

Dave's family would like to express their gratitude to Dr. Volk and the team at Green Bay Oncology. They would also like to thank Unity Hospice, Deacon John Laurant, Shopko Pharmacy, and Prevea Health for their amazing support.
