Edward Bedore Obituary

Bedore, Edward C.

Edward C. Bedore of Tampa, Fla., originally of Green Bay, Wis., died peacefully in his home on March 12, 2016, with his loving wife of 34 years, Delores, by his side. He was 88 years old.

Edward worked at Morley Murphy Company for 36 years before retiring in 1984. He enjoyed 35 years of retirement in both Green Bay and Tampa, during which time he loved to golf, fish, hunt and play his trumpet.

Edward had a profound love for music and his talent for playing the trumpet in a variety of swing bands, both in Green Bay and later in Tampa, was renowned by many. One of his most fond memories was when he had the chance to play in a band with Lawrence Welk during his time in the service. He and his friend Jack Brebner started the last of the big bands in 1962, and became a master at his craft after playing the trumpet for more than 60 years.

A true patriot, Edward proudly served his country in WWII from 1945-46 and was an active member of Shriners International for many decades.

Edward also had an immense passion for travelling, and they were able to see the world during his lifetime, making it to 75 different countries on countless excursions. His passion for learning other cultures became evident, as he became partner of a travel agency during his retirement in an effort to offer his travel expertise to others.

Ed is survived by his three children; Edward D. Bedore and his wife, Kathleen Bedore; Lisa Bedore Wilson and her husband Bruce Wilson; and Todd. L Bedore and his wife, Gretchen Bedore; and their mother Jean (Novak) Bedore. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, six step grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edward D. Bedore and Nelva Evans Bedore.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am until 12:00 Noon on Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue, Green Bay. Military Honors will be held at 12:00 Noon to conclude the visitation. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com.

My sympathies to your family. My Dad Bob Zehms worked with Ed at Morley's. I met him there also. Time goes on and we are the next generation. Hopefully we will have been as good an example to the next generation as Ed and his generation were for our generation!
