Jacob Maroszek Obituary

Maroszek, Jacob

Jacob F. "Jimmy" Maroszek, 82, Pulaski, died Wednesday, January 8, 2015, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 27, 1932, in Hofa Park, to Frank and Cecelia (Gracyalny) Maroszek. Jimmy served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1955-1961, stationed at Pearl Harbor and Midway Island. On July 31, 1965, Jimmy was united in marriage to Mildred "Millie" Koslowski at St. John the Baptist Church in Howard. After serving his country, he was employed by Asplundh Pole Treating Company until he took over the family farm in 1964. He was a very proud, hard-working farmer who farmed his entire life, never officially retiring. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, cards, especially Sheepshead, attending horse races, and going to the casino. Jimmy was an avid Packers fan, attending his first of a lifetime of home games at the age of 14, and never missed watching a game. He enjoyed spending time with his family, listening to polka music, speaking Polish to his grandchildren, working in the garden, and found great joy watching his grandchildren grow.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mildred, five children and their spouses, Wayne and Rhonda Maroszek, Pulaski; Brian and Lyzette Maroszek, Suamico; Amy Maroszek, Corunna, MI; Lisa and Scott Valinski, Appleton; Dale and Samantha Maroszek, Pulaski; 11 grandchildren, Colton and Christopher Maroszek, Pulaski; Brayden, Brock, and Brody Maroszek, Suamico; Monica and Symantha Taylor, Corunna, MI; Nicholas and Reagan Valinski, Appleton; Brycen, Hailey, and soon-to-be born, a little sister Maroszek, Pulaski; two sisters-in-law, Florence Maroszek, Green Bay; Janice Maroszek, Green Bay; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Florian, Edwin, John (Clara), Walter, and Alvin Maroszek; seven sisters and their spouses, Gertrude and Serenus Barrett, Monica and Ray Lampe, Helen and Richard Baranczyk, Irene and Wilfred Courchaine, Theresa and Bob Teschner, Agnes and Anna Maroszek.

Friends may call at Marnocha Funeral Home, Pulaski, from 3-7 p.m. Sunday, Closing Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. The visitation continues at St. Stanislaus Church, W1888 Hofa Park Dr., Hofa Park, after 10:00 a.m. Monday. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the church, Fr. James Esser, O.F.M. presiding. Spring burial will take place in the parish cemetery.

Jimmy's family wishes to thank all of the nurses and staff of Unity Hospice, especially Cheryl, Jenny, Sam, and Lana, and Dr. James Leenstra and Dr. Anthony Jaslowski.

Aunt Millie

I am so sorry to hear of Uncle Jimmy's passing. Patty just told me about it late last night. I was glad to see him at my dads funeral,it had been a long time since I'd seen any of my family from Wisconsin. I have lots of memories of him when I visited the farm as a kid. Our thoughts and prayers goes out to you and the kids.
