Jeff Tarkowski Obituary

Tarkowski, Jeff

Jeff A. Tarkowski, age 44, of Green Bay, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017. He was born on December 14, 1972, in Green Bay, to Glenn and Fern (Johnston) Tarkowski. In 1991, Jeff graduated from West High School and went on to attend Auburn University. He will be remembered for so many wonderful things. One of his great strengths was inspiring everyone to do just a bit better at everything that came up; it was infectious. Jeff spent his professional life as an animal behaviorist, helping countless numbers of people live happier lives with their canine companions. Jeff was well known and respected in the AKC Dog Show Circuit, raising and showing his beloved Pulis. He truly enjoyed the sport of triathlon, where he was an accomplished triathlete, competing at the highest levels, locally, nationally, and internationally. Those who knew him will remember him as an inspired chef and will miss his great recipes for soups and desserts. Nothing was more important to Jeff than his family, teasing his nieces, woodworking with his dad, running Great Expectations with his mom, raising dogs with his brother, and exercising with his sister and friend, Aliece.

Jeff will be sadly missed by his loving parents, Glenn and Fern Tarkowski; his siblings, Julie (Kevin) Srenaski and Joe (Jami) Tarkowski; nieces, Alexis and Jaymee Srenaski and Ella and Lucy Tarkowski; best friend, Aliece Dorsch; and many loving aunts, uncles, and close friends, certainly including those from Great Expectations.

Jeff is preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Daniel and Evelyn Tarkowski; maternal grandparents, Floyd and Gert Johnston; uncle, John Johnston; aunt, Donna Hubert; and cousin, Ben Johnston.

Visitation will be held TODAY, Monday, March 13, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of Celebration of Life at 7:00 p.m. Rev. Marian Boyle-Rohloff will be officiating. Expressions of sympathy, memories, and photos may be shared on Jeff's tribute page at www.lyndahl.com. In lieu of floral expressions, a memorial fund has been established in Jeff's name.

So sorry for your loss. I was one of the early-morning swimmers at the Y and was blessed to get to know Jeff. He was the "super-swimmer" in the bunch, slicing thru the water with an easy strength and grace as he constantly challenged himself to excellence. His love of the sports in which he participated was infectious. He accomplished what most of us could only dream about. He always had a ready smile. So very sad to learn of his passing. May God comfort your family ~

Glenn, Fern and Family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. May you find comfort knowing he is in a better place and no longer in pain.

I remember back when the kids were young and Jeff went up north with Rick and Jill. We adults were sitting by the camp fire and the boys were out in the field playing army and wearing their camo. We couldn't see what they were doing and who they were hiding from. We looked up and could see this white spot in the darkness - this being Jeff. It was like a fluorescent light was turned on, but shining only on Jeff. We all laughed as it was so comical.

Be sure to lean on your family and friends during this difficult time. They will want to help, but may not know how. They will be there for you.

Glenn, Fern and Family,
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Jeff was a wonderful person. There are no words that can help during this difficult time. There is a lot of support out there from your families, please reach out to them, even if it is just to talk, vent, cry, laugh, or sit. Remember all the joy this young man gave to you. He truly loved all of you.
One of memories I have was the time he went up north with Rick and Jill. The boys were all out in the field playing army. We were sitting by the camp fire and although all the kids had camo on, we could pick out Jeff because of his radiant head of hair.
My sympathy is with all of you. I can only imagine what you are going through and I hope and pray you will find peace and know that Jeff is being well taken care of and is at peace.
May the good Lord help you now and forever.

I remember Jeff for his patience with Woodson and the care he showed in visiting our home when my wife had broken ribs and he taught Woodson how to be sensitive around her. God must have needed a proven friend and athlete for his flock. Woodson is the wonderful dog he is because of Jeff. God bless you Fern and hubby-Jeff Carlson

Dear Glen, Fern, and family,

Dick and I are so sorry for your loss. We didn't realize Jeff was so sick. We're sure our little Snickers will keep him company because she liked him so much! I'm sure he will have lots of company up there in heaven, with all the classes he taught over the years.

You have our deepest sympathy.
