Lawrence Kreuser Obituary

Kreuser, Lawrence Eugene

Lawrence Eugene Kreuser, 74, Suamico, died Saturday, June 8, 2013, at a local hospital surrounded by his family. He was born March 26, 1939, in Green Bay to the late Robert and Madeline (Anheuser) Kreuser. After graduating from Green Bay West High School in 1957, Larry joined the Navy, sailing in the Atlantic Fleet to South America, almost to Antarctica. On July 1, 1961, he married Gloria Lucas at Annunciation Catholic Church and together they raised three children. They have been married almost 52 years.

After the Navy, he was employed for 10 years by Cleereman Machine Company working as a machinist and then as an assistant foreman. Larry then worked for Wisconsin Public Service at the Pulliam Power Plant as an electrician, retiring in 1999. Since retiring, he and Gloria have traveled to Iceland, the Holy Land, Turkey, Alaska and many areas within the United States and Canada. Larry was a life-long hunter. He loved downhill skiing, long distance biking, and making maple syrup in his younger years. Larry could fix anything and liked woodworking. He was passionate about gardening, growing flowers, fruits and vegetables. Larry was a spiritual man and loved his family and treasured his friends, but most of all he loved being a grandpa.

Larry is survived by his wife, Gloria; son, Mark (Mishele) Kreuser; daughter, Lynn Cain (David); son, Todd (Lisa) Kreuser; seven grandchildren, Will and Ryan Kreuser, Ariel Sorenson, Lily and Ella Cain, and Hannah and Jadyn Kreuser; three step-grandchildren, Christine Estell, Mike Hand, Tim Hand; brother, Robert (Bonnie) Kreuser; sister, Sharon (Bob) Badeau; parents-in-law, Horace and Orpha Lucas; sisters-in-law, Sandra Spejcher, Linda Feller; brothers-in-law, Michael (Ellie) Lucas, Patrick (Joan) Lucas; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Madeline Kreuser; and one granddaughter, Sydney Elizabeth Kreuser who was born on Larry's 60th birthday.

Friends may call at SS. Edward & Isidore Catholic Church, 3667 Flintville Rd., Flintville, from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with Rev. David Hoffman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Blaney Funeral Home is assisting the family. Larry was an extremely nice man and a very gentle soul. His having been born was a gift to the world. I had the pleasure of working with Larry at the Pulliam plant and the experience left me much the better for it. He will be missed by all. God Bless
