Marie Kintziger Obituary

Sister Marie Therese Kintziger, born July 29, 1929, in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of the late Michael and Claire (Boddy) Kintziger, passed away Oct. 24, 2011.

Sister Marie Therese entered the Community of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross, Green Bay, Wis., in September of, 1947. She was received into the Order on Aug. 12, 1948 and made her final profession in 1956. She joyfully celebrated her Diamond Jubilee in 2008.

Sister Marie Therese was a homemaker in many of the Community convents including St. John's Duck Creek, The Crippled Children's Home at the Chapel in Robinsonville, Ss. Peter and Paul, Institute, St. Isidore, Osman, and Holy Angels, Darboy. She spent 33 years in service to the elderly at the McCormick Memorial Home in Allouez. In 1996, she came home to the Motherhouse and served her Sisters as a nurse's aide for several years. Sister spent her golden years in community service humbly working at various tasks and tending some of the flower gardens around the convent. She rejoiced in being able to gift the Sisters, office staff and employees with fresh roses and other flowers. She enjoyed a game of cards with her sisters each evening.

Sister Marie Therese is survived by the Sisters and Associates of her congregation, the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross; cousins, Barry and Patti Wyatt, Susie Mailloux, Paul and Zenaida Kintziger, Richard Fedash; and special friends, Allan Darion and his daughter, Mary Beth Darion, Susan and Mark Roxdry, Lori Ann and John Kroll.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Claire Kintziger.

Friends may call TODAY, Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, at Holy Cross Church, 3009 Bay Settlement Road, from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. Msgr. James Feely officiating. Burial will be in the convent cemetery.

The Sisters of St. Francis wish to express their gratitude to the nursing staff at St. Francis Convent for their loving care and support.
