Patrick Moran Obituary

Patrick R. Moran, 78, De Pere, Wis., (formerly of Escanaba, Mich.) passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Rennes Health and Rehab Center in DePere.

He was born July 6, 1933, in Nadeau, Mich., to the late Vern and Harriet (Smith) Moran. Pat graduated from Stephenson High School and Northern Michigan University. He relished competition and enjoyed many different sports. In his younger years he was an exceptional fast pitch softball pitcher. He coached a variety of sports and continued to contribute to athletics as a referee. He also brought his fierce competitive spirit to golf, a sport he enjoyed to the very end of his life.

Pat provided positive leadership throughout his professional career first as a principal and coach for Carney Nadeau Public School. He later moved his family to Escanaba, where he served as the terminal manager for Clairmont Transfer and then director of the Six County Consortium.

Of his many accomplishments in life, he is most remembered for his positive spirit, and fun-loving nature. He had a gift of making you feel welcomed and loved. He deeply cherished his family and the time spent with them.

His first wife Elaine (Lutri) preceded him in death in November,1994. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Manning/Hughson). He was the oldest son and is survived by sister, Susan (Ronald) Lemerand, Wells, Mich.; his brothers, Michael (Jayne) Moran, Green Bay, Wis.; and Tim (Nancy) Moran, Green Bay, Wis. He is also survived by his four children, Beth (Michael) Dailey, Minocqua, Wis.; Jane (Doug) Bouchey, Harrison, Mich.; Jerry (Susan), Green Bay, Wis.; and Patrick John, Cape Coral, Fla. Nine grand children are also surviving, Claire Dailey, Marci Fritz, Jillian Bouchey, Amie Moran, Tony Moran, Alex Moran, Olivia Moran, Sam Moran and Zac Moran; two great-grandchildren, Zoe Wigginton and Tyler Wigginton; four stepchildren, Mary (Ron) Hughson Brown, Eagle, Colo.; Maureen (James Trongard) Hughson, Port Washington, Wis.; Anne (Michael) Hale, De Pere, Wis.; and Tom Hughson, Appleton, Wis.; and three stepgrandchildren, Riley, Olivia and Emily Hughson.
