Philip Buck Obituary
Philip G. Buck, 93, Green Bay, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2013. He was born on July 30, 1919 in Fond du Lac to the late George and Ida C. (Petrin) Buck. Philip operated a grocery store after graduation. He served his country in the US Army Cavalry from June 27, 1942 to January 1946. He married Gladys E. Reinke on February 7, 1959 in Green Bay. She preceded him in death on October 17, 2002.
Philip was employed at Clabots Shoes for 28 years and retired in 1984. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #401, Nobel-Straubel VFW Post #2037 and past Post Commander. He was involved with the Green Bay Kickers and the South Side Civic Association. Philip helped start the South Side Library and was on the Green Bay Planning Commission. He was a ticket taker for the Green Bay Packers for the Ice Bowl and he sold programs and parked cars at the old stadium. Philip was a past member of the St. Joseph's Holy Name Society and St. Joseph's Athletic Club.
Surviving are his step-daughter, Nancy and Dr. Robert Logomasini, Hampton Bay, Long Island, New York; 17 grandchildren, Timothy, Patrick, Victoria, Jonathon, Mark, Kathleen, Mathew and Peter Spellman, Bridget Roeder, Becky Swalve, Tina Garzanelli, Robert Jr., John and Angela Logomasini, Lisa Darling, Linda Fournier and Anna Montgomery; 23 great-grandchildren; his niece, Barbara (Jerry) Leiterman; and a nephew, James La Count.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Peggy Spellman Block; a grandson, Thomas Spellman; a great-granddaughter, Sara Roeder; and a sister, Genevieve La Count.
Visitation will take place from 4 to 7 pm on Monday, February 25, 2013 at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, February 26 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1224 12th Avenue, from 10 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am with Rev. Ryan Krueger officiating. Military honors will follow. Entombment will be at Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com. A memorial fund has been established in Philip's name.

Philip was a true gentlemen.I work at Oneida Casino and he would come in once awhile and we would really have some nice talks.Also my Mother was a cousin to Gladys her name was Margaret Graff Haack.My grandmother was Hulda Reinke Graff. With all my sympathy,

I second what my son Chris wrote. Having Phil for a neighbor for over 30 years was indeed a wonderful experience. We talked a lot and he was a very good man. I remember when he won the car, visited with the Packer players who came to the park to mentor the kids playing football, got grape leaves from me to make a special dish he liked that his mom had made and just talking for hours. I met Phil Buck when he was a resident at Mason Manor. The Gentleman that he was...Phil was kind enough to friend my Uncle Don. The definition of Phil Buck....A Grand Man who will Never be Forgotten!! God Bless You All During This Difficult Time.

Phil was a good friend that I met when I joined the Eagles Club. He was a 70 year member who welcomed a stranger as a friend. He will be dearly missed by his Eagle brothers. I hope some day to be half the gentleman that Phil was. Good-Bye old friend.

Mr Buck was my neighbor for many years when I was growing up. He was always smiling and friendly. He was the kind of guy you want to have as a neighbor. He will be missed.
