Richard Anderson Obituary

Richard "Rich" K. Anderson

Green Bay - Richard "Rich" K. Anderson, 91, was lifted up by angels to the Lord, and his wife, Lois, on Monday, September 17, 2018. He was born on July 17, 1927 to Kenneth and Marion (Burnette) Anderson. Rich attended West High School and went into the Army prior to his senior year. He worked as a conductor at the Milwaukee/Soo Railroad for 40 years. Rich married Lois on September 16, 1950 and shared 65 years of marriage together.

Rich was an outstanding athlete at Green Bay West, playing football, basketball and track. Rich shared his knowledge and love of sports with his sons and later his grandchildren, as well as all those he coached over the years. He was one of the founders of the Green Bay Southwest booster club. He was a devoted Packers fan, being a season ticketholder since 1947. Rich was a rail-bird, his lawn chair was always waiting for him as he watched Packers practices along Oneida Street. Before and after their retirements, Lois and Rich loved to travel throughout the U.S. and beyond.

Rich is survived by his four sons, Mike (Barb), Tom (Laurie), Larry (Linda Simion) and Paul (Kelly); his grandchildren, Kristin (Eric) Vorpahl, Kyle (Kelly) Anderson, Teryn (Kevin) Weil, Eric Anderson, David (Tina) Anderson, Nicole Young (fiancée Adam), Jonathan Anderson and Jordan (Kevin) McKenzie; great-grandchildren Matthew, Ava, Andrew, Harper, Caleb, Hazel, Elliot, Jonah, Samantha, Kevin James and Naomi. He is further survived by his brother, Bob (Janice) Anderson; his sister-in-law, Joanne Lindow; and brother-in-law, Rusty Radue.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois; his parents, Kenneth and Marion; Lois' parents, Henry and Helen Bancel; his brother in-law, DeLyle Lindow; and sister-in-law, Delores Radue.

We thank the entire staff at Woodside Manor, and especially Cha, Jackie and Mary, for their care of dad over the last two and a half years. We thank the staffs at Unity Hospice and Home Instead for their recent care of dad.
