Richard Lealiou Obituary

Richard "Dick" "Pa" Lealiou

Green Bay - FUNERAL MASS HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER.

Richard ""Dick"" ""Pa"" Lealiou, 90, a lifelong resident of Green Bay, passed away Monday, April 10, 2018, in a local nursing home. He was born July 6,1927, to Steven and Louise (Younkle) Lealiou. Richard married Edwina Ostrenga on May 25, 1957. They spent a colorful and eventful 60 years together raising their family.

Dick earned the nickname the ""Bike Man"" because he loved to fix up and sell bicycles. In his younger years, loved to feel the breeze in his hair while riding his motorcycle on the open road. He was an auto mechanic who worked for House of Ryan for many years and later, in building maintenance. In addition, he painted many a house on the side, fixed many door locks and replaced many toilets in his time for Vander Zanden Realty. Dick enjoyed watching his classic TV westerns, eating popcorn and drinking his beer on blustery winter Saturday nights. In the summer, he loved to eat sweets, to drink plenty of cold beers and the cooking (and eating) of booyah. He loved playing the quarter slots at the casino, betting on football numbers and having a beer or two with Edwina, relatives and friends at the local taverns. For sure, he always had a story to ""tell ya"".

Dick is survived by his loving wife, Edwina; his sons, Joe (Enri) Ostrenga, Donald (Kathy) Lealiou, Thomas (Lynn) Lealiou and John Lealiou; his daughters, Mary Lealiou (Gordy), Julie (Ted) Wiesman; his grandchildren, Jason Lealiou, Adam and Aaron Ostrenga, David (Katie) DeRoche, Joey DeRoche, Julie Anna, Danny and Maddie Lealiou, Kayla and Amanda Wiesman; his sister, Eunice Pohlman; his sisters-in-law, Muriel Lealou, Rita Kaster; his brother-in-law, Ray (Rita) Ostrenga.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, William, Carlton, Edwin, Joseph, Gilbert, Lawrence and Robert; his sisters, Viola, Evelyn, Audrey and Lorraine; his brothers-in-law, Rich, Clarence, Calvin, Rueben, Tom, Joe, Phil and Eddie; his sisters-in-law, Agnes, Susie, Regina, Joyce and Rosie.

Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason Street, on Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. A Parish Wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. There will be no visitation on Saturday.
