Ruth Kelm-LaMack
Green Bay - Ruth Renata Kelm-LaMack, age 100 years, five months and six days, went to be with her Lord on June 20, 2018. She died peacefully at the home of her son, Wayne (Dawn) Kelm, surrounded by family.
She was born January 14, 1918, in Racine to Ernst and Clara (Schlegel) Falkenrath. Ruth graduated from Park High School in Racine and continued her education at Moore Business College. Ruth worked for J.I. Case Company and the Dumore Company in Racine as a typist.
On April 12, 1947, Ruth wed Kenneth Wm. Kelm, at Frist Ev. Lutheran Church in Racine. They moved to Townsend and ran the family farm. The couple raised four children: Walter, Cynthia, Wayne, and Cathleen. After Kenneth's death in 1964, Ruth worked for Wilson School as a teacher's aide and then 10 years for the U.S. Forest Service in Lakewood as a receptionist until her retirement in 1980.
Ruth loved music. By the age of five she was playing piano and continued playing well into her nineties. She loved to travel, making a trip to Europe in her seventies and also many adventures with Wayne and Dawn.
She is survived by her four children: Walter (Ellen) Kelm, Chippewa Falls, Cynthia Kelm (Steve Chapman) Waupaca, Wayne (Dawn) Kelm, Green Bay, and Cathleen (Stephen) Palazzolo, Green Bay; five grandchildren: Matthew (Kerry) Kelm, Timothy (Danielle) Kelm, Mariah (Brian) Brown, Yana Palazzolo, and Kayla (Thom) Keehan; nine great-grandchildren: Samuel and Nora Kelm, Hollie and Hazel Singer, Kylie, Davis and James Kelm, and Tommy and Zoe Keehan; one step-son, Warren LaMack; four step-grandchildren: Beth (Phil) Hartman and Anne Bogart, John (Ann) Wilcox and Jane Wilcox; her cousin, Arnold (Verna) Schlegel, and special friends: Barbara Rose, Diane Rose, Charity Van Kampen, and Ken Persons.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Kelm; her brother, Milton and sister-in-law, Ellen Falkenrath; her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Albert and Clara Kelm; her second husband, Andrew Zache; step daughters and son-in-law: Joan Zache Bogart and Janet (Lloyd) Wilcox; her third husband, Lester LaMack; and grandsons: Tyler Mertes and Greg Singer.
Friends may call at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 743 S. Monroe Ave., Green Bay, after 2:00 p.m Saturday. The Funeral Service will be celebrated at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, at the church, Pastor Paul Schleis officiating.
Burial will take place in Forest Home Cemetery, Townsend. "The Lord is my Shepherd"
