Thinking of you Teddy Jo- Love Joe

November 23, 2014

Ted making his bed and the words in the article bring back to life so many names; the night Gerald Sellisen was elected Chief and Tom Depas called my dad at 1:00am to let him know, and the celebration began.. we need to honor those from a generation that are slowly leaving us unable to impart their values and goodness to those left behind. WWII embodied "the greatest generation", brought out the patriotism of all from every small town in the country; this love of country and men of conviction and honor i.e. Ted Schultz is passing as we lose each one of them. A revitalization of the type of selfless, hard-working, giving, caring people personified in men like Theodore Schultz, held and do hold qualities much needed in the present era. TeddyJo will be sorely missed by many.
You cannot do justice to a life spent defending and honoring American values with a few paragraphs. Spending 6 years of his youth under water in a nuclear sub, taught me the difference between fusion & fission is just the start of a selfless life spent nobly. This goes for all the departed who served defending Green Bay and surrounding as police and fire protectors; and those who have chosen to do so now. Love you Ted- Joe Matzke

I've scanned some photo's from a very old newspaper edition focused on the life of a fireman in 1980. The names in this article are names and faces I've heard and seen, burnt into my memory from an early age. Harvey Graume, Dick Konop, Roebe, Matzke, Woldt, Sellisen, Depas, too many to mention. All good men, and better for having known and served with Theodore (Theo) Schultz Sr. RIP Godfather~

Another Generation

November 23, 2014

I love you TeddyJo; I always will. Say hello to my dad and all the other family, friends and fireman who have passed before you; was reading that article of you and my dad at the fire station. I miss those days. I'll see you again one day. Joey
p.s. after spending six years of your life underwater in a sub during the cold war; twenty five years as a civil servant for the GBFD the flag should be at half mast throughout the state. Ted Schultz was a good and honorable man, we salute you; as well we should.
