Tony Olsen Obituary

Olsen, Tony "Oly"

Tony "Oly" R. Olsen, 38, of Seymour, passed away Tuesday afternoon, April 5, 2016 at home on the farm with his family by his side. He was born September 13, 1977, son of Ken and Judy (Moes) Olsen.

He showed incredible strength as he courageously faced his last two weeks. He was most concerned with the welfare of his family, friends, and farm. He was an inspiration to us all.

Tony graduated from Seymour High School in 1996 and Northeast Technical College in 1998. He worked various jobs until he started farming fulltime 12 years ago. He was proud to take over his grandpa Ben's farm. Tony loved his cows and was able to drive his skidsteer and feed his herd the day before he died.

Tony was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church and served on the Cicero Fire Department for 10 years. He enjoyed time with family and friends, playing volleyball, watching sporting events, especially March Madness, and participating in sporting event pools.

Tony is survived by his parents, Ken and Judy Olsen, Seymour; siblings: Kim (Craig) Melotte, Pulaski; Kelly (Greg) Cieslewicz, Green Bay; and Bennie (RaeAnn) Olsen; Antigo; nieces and nephews: Raymond and Philip Melotte, Erin, Megan, Alanna Cieslewicz, Bennie Jr., Annette, and Evelyn Olsen. Also survived by many loving family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Ed and Florida Olsen, and Ben and Gertie Moes.

Friends may call at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 4-8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at the church from 9:00 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. with Pastor Roland Lindeman officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.

I just heard and I am so sad to hear this. I remember Tony when he was just little, the littlest of them all, then.

Though we seldom see each other you are all in my thoughts and my heart. Always.

I am so sorry for your loss. I remeber him very clearly in school. I was very close when we were young. I came out to the farm for a birthday party one time when we were little and it was the best time I ever had at a birthday party you had money I think was under our chairs and I found it. I still remember that and his Voltron toy I always wanted. Again I am so sorry.
