XENIA — Barbara L. Tobias of Xenia, passed away peacefully at 6:20am Friday October 6th. She was born November 27, 1942, in Biloxi, Mississippi, the daughter of Raymond and Leona Blocker. She graduated Xenia High School class of 1960, and later Bethesda Nursing School of Cincinnati in 1964. She was employed by notable area physicians Dr. McClelland, Dr. Hendrickson, and Dr. Charlotte Ames, for whom she worked 25 years. Afterwards, she earned a position with the State of Ohio Department of Health as a Nurse Surveyor, where she dedicated an additional 20 years of nursing service until her retirement. She is survived by her Husband Elwood "Butch" Tobias, whom she married June 27th of 1964, two sons Gregory S.(Jenny) Tobias of Centerville, Peter L. Tobias of Lorain, and a Sister Mary Beth(David) King of Plano Texas, and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and close friends. She was preceded in death by her Parents, a Brother Jay(Carolyn) Blocker, and Brother in Law Rick(Charlotte) Bottoroff of Grand Prairie Texas. Barbara loved her Country/Bluegrass music, cooking, baking, casinos, travelling, fishing, flowers, and her antiques. She also cherished being her sons' #1 fan in all of their life's endeavors. Barb will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Memorial services will be held at 11am, Friday, October 20, at Neeld Funeral Home, 1276 N. Detroit St., Xenia. Visitation will be held from 10am Friday, until service time. Private burial will follow in Bellbrook Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to VITAS Hospice, 3055 Kettering Blvd., Suite 400, Moraine, OH, 45439, in her memory. Condolences may be made to the family at www.NeeldFuneralHome.com.

I´m so sorry for your loss. Barb was always the first to help, loved everyone, especially Butch and the boys. I know she will be missed by many.
