FAIRBORN — Brockton Benjamin Batie, age 18 of Fairborn, passed away Saturday March 10, 2018 at the Soin Medical Center. He was born July 30, 1999 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, and is survived by his father, Robert Batie of Los Angeles, CA and mother, Nadine (Dwayne) Acklin of Fairborn. Brockton graduated from Fairborn High School in 2017 and was currently employed with Ali Industries. While in high school he was active in basketball, football, track, played the saxophone, and was a talented artist. He attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. In addition to his parents he is survived by a sister, Taja Jones; brother, Robert T. Batie, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Robert B. (LaFern) Batie of Tampa, FL and Cheryl Batie of Clinton, MD; maternal grandparents, Nathaniel, Jr. and Wilma Jones of Fairborn; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other extended family and many friends. The family will receive friends on Friday March 16, 2018 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Fairborn High School Auditorium, 900 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday March 17, 2018 at 10:00 A.M., Brother Don Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at the Byron Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Skyhawk Athletic Club, 900 E. Dayton-Yellow Springs Rd., Fairborn, OH 45324 -or- to the Worldwide Work of Jehovah's Witnesses at www.jw.org. Arrangements in care of Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, Fairborn.
