Clifford Fawcett Obituary

CEDARVILLE Dr. Clifford William "Cliff" Fawcett age 82 of Cedarville, by God's sovereign and loving hand, left this life for his eternal home on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at Friends Care Center. He was born on January 3, 1930 to the late Clifford and Madeline (Fosket) Fawcett in Brooklyn, New York. In addition to his parents, Cliff is preceded in death by his brothers, Eugene and Bobby and a sister, Marion. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lydia (Van Allen) Fawcett; children: Cheryl Fawcett, Glenn (Linda) Fawcett, Jeffrey (Tonya) Fawcett, Clifford (Patti) Fawcett, Bradley (Bethany) Fawcett; a brother, Arthur; 12 Grandchildren: Melissa, Monica, Amanda, Erin, Matthew, Andrew, Carrie, Ben, Madelyn, Jaden, Avery, and Joshua. Cliff served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War from 1950-1954, he continued working with the Navy as a civilian from 1955-1977. He received numerous awards for outstanding civilian accomplishments and contributions to Surface Missile Systems. In 1976 he was awarded the Navy Superior Civilian Service Award for his pioneering efforts in passive warfare. Cliff was the Founder and President of Innovation Resources Limited from 1978-1985, a management consulting firm that worked closely with the Naval Sea Systems Command. He completed his career at Cedarville University as a Professor of Strategic Management from 1983-2002, serving as Head of the Business Department from 1983-1986. His professional affiliations included, Academy of Management, The Institute of Management Sciences, and Association for Science Technology and Innovation. Cliff was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Friends may call on Friday, October 26, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. At Grace Baptist Church, Cedarville. Funeral services will follow on Saturday, October 27 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Craig Miller officiating. Burial North Cemetery.
