FAIRBORN — Donna Christine Carter, age 89 of Fairborn, answered the Lord's call and joined her husband and so many others on Heaven's streets of gold on Monday July 25, 2022. She was born April 6, 1933 in West Liberty, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Lester and Orene (Lewis) Reed. Sister Carter, along with her husband, Pastor Ancil Carter, pastored and co-founded the Fairborn Church of God, now Victory Church, and were steadfast for over 70 years in bringing the good news of Jesus to an unmeasurable number of people in their congregation, community, and everywhere they went. Donna loved ministry through music and was the founder and director of the Fairborn Youth Choir, winning National Teen Talent competition and leading many teens to the Lord. She was instrumental in changing lives for the better and was a dedicated teacher of the adult Fidelis Bible Class for many years with over 150 class members. Along with the ladies in the church she worked hard to raise money for building funds and youth choir trips. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 72 years, Rev. Ancil Carter just over two weeks ago on July 7, 2022. Survivors include two children, Joel and Carlee Carter of Fairborn, Anna Sue and Doug Stewart of Waynesville; five grandchildren, Todd and Tasha Baker, Stephanie and Brad Perry, Ben and Nikki Carter, Kimberly and Keith Meyers, Natalee and Jamie Carter; eight great-grandsons, Matthew, Andrew, Noah, Devin, Alex, Dillon, Max, Gavin; a great-granddaughter, Lilee; sister-in-law, Sue Ramey of Shelby, Ohio; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family, church family, and many friends. A funeral service was held July 29 at the Victory Church in Fairborn followed by a private interment at Byron Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Victory Church or Hospice of Dayton. Arrangements in care of Belton-Stroup Funeral Home, Fairborn.
