Gary Bickett Obituary

XENIA — Gary Keith Bickett, 78, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2022. Loving father of Beth (Tod) Bickett, dear step-father of Abby Smith and Zachery Smith, cherished grandfather of Joseph (Alexa) Ehling, and Johnathan (Brooke) Ehling, adored great grandfather of Karsin, Kayden, Ellie and Lukas. He was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years Susan; his parents Robert and Nellie Bickett; and his sister, Linda Deanne Campana. Gary was raised on a farm in Xenia where he helped raise crops and assisting in the sawmill. After high school he served his country proudly in the United States Army. He then went on to work for the City of Xenia where he retired after 33 years of service. In his spare time Gary enjoyed motorcycle riding, boating, feeding the "tree rats" peanuts, spending time with family and friends and enjoying time at St. Mary's Lake. His favorite sports teams included The Ohio State Buckeye's football and the Cincinnati Bengals. Public visitation will be at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd Beavercreek, OH 45432) on Monday April 11, 2022 at 12:30 pm with funeral service to follow at 1:30. Burial at Woodland Cemetery in Xenia. Memorial donation can be made in Gary's honor to Greene County Veteran's Services (571 Ledbetter Rd. Xenia, OH 45385)
